It’s so easy to bake the Marbled Bábovka and the results are so impressive, that it must be tried by everyone who has a functional oven in the kitchen. Besides, it’s hard to find a simpler and more elegant combination than bábovka and coffee.
Marbled Bábovka (Bundt Cake)
2 cups plain flour, plus more to dust the baking bundt cake pan
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 sachet (10 g) vanilla sugar
1 sachet (15 g) baking powder
butter to pre-grease the bundt cake pan
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
powder sugar for dusting
Pre-grease your bundt cake pan and dust well with flour.
Preheat oven to 160˚C.
Place all the ingredients for the batter into the bowl of your stand mixer and mix until it becomes a homogenous mass. Pour 3/4 of the batter into your prepared pan. Stir the cocoa powder into the rest of it and gradually pour this cocoa mixture (ribbon like) on top and in the middle of the cake. You can also add walnuts 🙂
Bake for 50 minutes, or until golden brown and a successful toothpick test.
Take the baked cake out from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Then gently loosen the edges up using a knife. Place a plate on the top and flip over to release bábovka from the pan.
Dust with powdered sugar
